HEAP

Heating Credit (HEAP)

HEAP provides eligible Ohioans assistance with their heating bills. This one-time benefit is applied directly to the customer's main heating bill.

Year-Round Utility Payment Help (PIPP)

PIPP helps eligible Ohioans manage their utility bills year-round. If your home is heated with gas, you will receive a monthly payment of 5% of your household income for your gas bill, and 5% for your electric. If you heat with electric, you monthly payment will be 10% of your house hold income.

(LIHWAP)

LIHWAP helps eligible Ohioans pay their water utility bills. An interview is also required for this program. This program is one time assitance that runs October 1st to September 30th.

Summer Crisis

The Summer Crisis Program provides a one-time benefit to eligible Ohioans with a member of the household who is at least 60 years old, have a disconnect notice, have been shut off, are trying to establish new service, have physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for their health, or are enrolling in Percentage of Income Payment Plus (PIPP) for the first time or have a PIPP defaultAn interview is also required for this program.

Winter Crisis

Eligible households can receive up to $175 if they are a client of a regulated utility, or $750 if they are a client of unregulated utilities such as electric cooperatives and municipal utilities. The assistance is applied to their utility bill and/or applied to heating system repair costs. Ohioans must have a gross income at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines to qualify for assistance. Support can be found in up to $1200 for bulk fuels and $650 for firewood.


An interview is also required for this program.

The program runs from November 1, 2024 until March 31, 2025.
